Polly A Hand Embroidered Mohair Bear

Please meet Polly a Hand Embroidered 'Bear Belly' Bear.Polly is approximately 29cms tall and is made from gold and creamy white sparse mohair. She is fully cotterpin jointed and has trapunto cream ultra suede on her paw and foot pads. Polly is filled with polyester stuffing and has plastic pellets added for extra weight. Polly has clear glass eyes which have been painted in acrylic to match the mohair used. Her nose is made from brown felt and she has painted features for added detail.

On Polly's Belly I have lovingly embroidered a colourful tropical scene. It is one of my original designs and is meticulously hand sewn on an embroidery frame, a process which takes several days to complete. Unfortunately as these bears are so time consuming it means that I am not able to create many bears of this type.Polly will come complete with a Bears Of Bath genuine signed and numbered certificate. She is number 13 in the Bear Belly Series.

*Polly has found a new home in America. : ) updated 19th January.

Thank you for looking.

The cold weather has caught up with us here at Avebury, Matt was pleased as he has got a day off school and got to play in the snow and make a dalek snowman! I have been able to get on with some painting for my bears and I'm now working on a series of fairy scenes inspired by the artist Cicely Mary Barker who did the fabulous 'Flower Fairies'.

Matthew was feeling left out so I said that I would post a photo of him which was taken at the weekend at Avebury Stones.
